The 2007/08 HRINZ HR Generalist of the Year
goes to:
Philippa Jones
Philippa has always been driven by a passion for HR and the desire to positively influence the direction and results of the business she has worked in.
Her career has lead her to leadership roles in some of New Zealand’s most well-known and well-respected organisations including General Manager level positions with PriceWaterhouse, Southern Cross, Auckland District Health Board and The Christchurch City Council.
While at the Christchurch City Council Philippa was asked by her CEO to take the lead in changes that would not just improve the HR practices but that would improve the overall performance of the business. These changes were delivered through the internationally recognised Baldridge framework and when independently audited against those standards in 2007 the assessors noted that they “considered the HR area to be one of the council’s key strengths.”
In the last week Philippa has moved to a senior strategic role at Crop & Food research as the General Manager Corporate Services where she will combine all of her accumulated business success in leading the HR, IT, Communications and Marketing functions.
Congratulations Philippa
